A former child prodigy in the world of horse racing, Johnny's career was cut short when a spinal injury left him paralyzed from the waist down. He enters the Steel Ball Run, a massive cross-country race, after discovering that the mysterious 'Spin' technique used by Gyro Zeppeli can briefly restore his mobility. Throughout the race, he evolves into a powerful Stand user while searching for the sacred fragments of the Saint's Corpse.
