Hailing from Aspertia City in the Unova region, Hugh began his Pokémon journey with a specific, personal mission. Five years prior to the events of his adventure, Team Plasma stole a Purrloin that had been a gift for his younger sister, leaving him with a deep-seated grudge against the organization. He travels the land to become stronger, seeking to dismantle Team Plasma and finally return the stolen Pokémon to his sister.
