Cheren is a childhood friend of the heroes of the Unova region who originally set out on his journey to discover the true meaning of strength. After traveling the region and battling alongside legendary figures, he realized that power is not just about victory but about the bonds between people and Pokemon. He eventually returned to his hometown of Aspertia City to serve as its Gym Leader and a teacher at the local trainers' school.
