Subaru is a tomboyish girl with short, choppy black hair and unique eyes that transition from orange at the top to light blue at the bottom. She typically wears a yellow baseball cap backwards, a bright yellow and white oversized sports jersey, and short denim shorts. Her athletic look is completed by a signature whistle around her neck and white sneakers.

Subaru joined Hololive after her family home burned down, leading her to audition for the group as a way to support herself and rebuild her life. Originally the manager of both an MMA and an e-sports club, she was a complete outsider to otaku culture before becoming an idol. Her boisterous personality and unique voice eventually led fans to affectionately meme her as a duck.
