Magical Ruby is a sentient red-and-white magical wand topped with a golden ring, a five-pointed yellow star, and six small white wings. In her personified form, she appears as a young girl with short orange-red hair and mischievous red eyes, typically dressed in a vibrant red-and-white magical girl costume. She is often depicted floating mid-air with a playful, slightly wicked smirk while teasing her masters.

She grants her user the power to transform into a magical girl by drawing energy and abilities from parallel worlds. Originally contracted to Rin Tohsaka, she eventually abandoned her for being too serious and tricked Illyasviel von Einzbern into a contract to satisfy her own amusement and love for chaos.
