Better known by her adepti title, Cloud Retainer, Xianyun is a powerful illuminated beast who has protected Liyue for thousands of years from her abode on Mt. Aocang. She is a master of mechanics and engineering who served as a mentor to Ganyu and Shenhe, often treating them with maternal care. Recently, she has taken on a human persona and moved to Liyue Harbor to experience mortal life and keep a close eye on her beloved disciples.
