As the heir to the Joestar fortune in 19th-century England, Jonathan's peaceful life was destroyed by his adoptive brother, Dio Brando, who sought to steal the family inheritance. After Dio used a mystical stone mask to become an immortal vampire, Jonathan trained in the solar-powered martial art of Hamon under Will Anthonio Zeppeli. He ultimately sacrificed everything to stop Dio's evil and protect the future of the Joestar bloodline.
