Originally a normal reindeer ostracized for his blue nose, Chopper ate the Human-Human Fruit, which granted him human intelligence and the ability to transform. He was mentored in medicine by Dr. Hiriluk and Dr. Kureha on Drum Island after being rejected by both humans and his own kind. He eventually joined the Straw Hat Pirates to fulfill his dream of becoming a doctor who can cure any disease while exploring the vast world.
