Zidane is a short, nimble young man with messy blonde hair tied into a small ponytail and striking teal eyes. He is defined by a prehensile tan monkey tail that extends from his lower back, hinting at his non-human origins. His attire consists of a sleeveless teal vest over a white puffy-sleeved shirt, dark blue pants, and sturdy brown leather boots.

Cheerful, flirtatious, altruistic, loyal, optimistic, and self-sacrificing.

Zidane was created on the planet Terra by the ancient being Garland as a Genome intended to serve as a soulless 'Angel of Death' to destroy Gaia. After being discarded on Gaia as a young child, he was found and raised by Baku, the leader of the Tantalus Theater Troupe in the city of Lindblum. Growing up as a thief and performer, he eventually led a mission to kidnap Princess Garnet, which set him on a journey to save the world and discover his true identity.
