Wei Lan

A petite Chinese woman in her late sixties with East Asian features, light skin, silver hair in a neat low bun held by a wooden hairpin, kind dark eyes with laugh lines. She wears a loose sage-green linen tunic with knotted cloth buttons, wide grey linen trousers, simple black cloth shoes, a jade bangle, and holds a small clay teapot.

Serene, precise, gently teasing, endlessly patient.

Owner of a mountain tea house

Wei Lan has run her tea house on the mountain for forty years. Every spring she still climbs to the oldest tea trees herself to pick the first leaves.
