Hikari Tanabe

A girl around ten with light skin, short black hair with a red clip, big curious brown eyes, a sunburned nose. She wears a light blue sleeveless summer dress, a wide straw hat with a ribbon, a small canvas shoulder bag, and white sneakers, holding an insect net.

Curious, stubborn, brave, homesick at night.

Hikari was sent to her grandmother's village for the summer. On the first day she heard the river laughing, and she has been trying to find out why ever since.
